Fairtrade Fortnight

Winchester University has once again seen the return of Fairtrade Fortnight. Starting on February 25th and running to March 10th, the University has been spreading awareness of the non-profit organisation to promote justice and sustainable development in trade structures.

Winchester Student Union and the University’s Catering Department have been holding a number of events such as Fairtrade product tasting, football events and promoting Fairtrade fashion.

I spoke to Allison Jones, the Ethical and Environmental Officer at the University to talk about her views on the importance of spreading awareness about Fairtrade and it’s success in Winchester.
